Prayer Lock is a forthcoming Christian app designed to place a brief prayer pause before selected distracting apps. The goal is a gentle prompt for reflection, not a promise about how you will use your phone.

How it is designed to work
Choose where to pause
The planned app lets you select where you want a prayer prompt, such as before social media, news, or games.
Pause for prayer
When you open a selected app, Prayer Lock is designed to offer a short prayer or moment of silence first.
Then decide
After the pause, you decide whether to continue to the app or put your phone down. The choice remains yours.
Not a blocker. A bridge.
Prayer Lock is being designed as a prompt rather than a hard lockout or a judgment about screen time. Its purpose is to create a small space between impulse and action and fill that space with prayer.
That space is where freedom lives. As Paul wrote: “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1)

While Prayer Lock is in development, you can explore the practice for yourself. Before opening a distracting app, pause for ten seconds, pray, and notice whether the moment helps you choose more intentionally.
